Practice three brush techniques with this exciting Apple Exercise and make a card for your favorite teacher!
Drop and Guide
Normal Brushwork/Direct Painting

Materials: Inks (I used Red Pepper, Botanical, Butterscotch and Espresso), Yupo, brush

Project Steps:
- For the Drop and Guide, drop 3 drops of Red Pepper/red on to the paper.
- Watch the ink expand, and use the brush to guide the edges to an apple shape
- Dispense some Espresso/brown ink into the welled palette so that it may begin to evaporate
- Dispense some Botanical/green and Butterscotch/yellow ink into the welled palette and paint an inky leaf with the brush (Direct Painting)
- Use the thickened Espresso ink to paint a fine line for the stem (Dry Brush)
